I've been working on my packaging recently and am really happy with where I'm at so far. There's still a few additions I want to make to add a little more color and branding to the outside of the packaging....but progress is progress!

Steph and Jess (David's sisters) came up to our house to spend the night and hangout while on their spring break. One of the things they REALLY wanted to do was go to the beach while they were here. You know, to say they went to the beach : ) So...we went! And it was FREEZING. We got there and it was 34 degrees and super windy. The waves were huge and we stayed about as long as I could snap a few pictures before hightailing it back to the car.

It's been a long time since we've been able to really grill out. One of our favorite recipes to grill are these Ranch Turkey Burgers. Not only are they delicious...but they're healthy too!!

Don't mind the placement of the burgers. Our grill is ghetto and we do whats we gotta do!

We took another big step with Kimberly Althausen Photography today -- we opened a business bank account and deposited the first couple of checks I have received. Each of these steps makes everything feel just a bit more official...and it's sometimes hard to believe that everything has come about so quickly. I'm really enjoying it and am so thankful for this opportunity!

I swung by Bath & Body Works today to pick up a new air freshener for my car...when I spotted these cute mini candle jars in some new summer scents. I couldn't resist the 3 for $5 deal and came home with a few new candles. Our house smells like spring (and summer)! Mmmmm....

It's starting to look a bit like spring around here {finally!}. I came home from Colorado to most of the snow melted, a little green grass peeking through, and our daffodils AND tulips making their debut! I can't wait to see them in bloom.

Apparently I'm on a candy decorating kick lately. It started off with a few candy corn last fall, then conversation hearts last month, and now this...

It's cheap and easy and I like it.

It's not so cheap, however, when I've refilled this same jar with about five different bags of jelly beans (and counting). It's no secret that my husband has a HUGE sweet toot and it isn't uncommon for me to find him looking for a snack in the candy candle jar.

I think it's safe to say that it's time for me to step away from the candy isle and into the "vase filler" isle!

I'm SO glad that we went out for part two of Jay & Kristin's engagement session today. The light was BEAUTIFUL and I was able to get some great pictures - I hope they love them as much as I do.

I can't wait to celebrate with them this summer!!

I've been having a GREAT time in Colorado and have realized how much I really miss it. The weather was in the 60's today and I had the chance to do part one of Jay & Kristin's Engagement Session (more to come tomorrow!!). This picture was taken in downtown Boulder.

I love how it kind of looks like Kristin is giving me the look that says, "I can't believe you're going to be taking pictures of us making out!" Haha. Me either!

David and I volunteered a good portion of our Saturday to a Father/Daughter event at the church where I work. We set up a "photo booth" with a few props and took pictures of each father/daughter duo. It was a fun night and we got great feedback from all the pictures we took.

As a photographer, I always like seeing the pull back from a session -- here is ours!

I love when clients hire me over again...and over and over again! It's encouraging and I love being able to build a relationship with a family over time and watch their little ones grow. It's so fun.

I first photographed this family when Lil' G was still in her momma's tummy - and then captured her as a newborn after Lillian Grace made her debut. She is such a cutie and I was SO excited when her parents contacted me to photograph her first year milestones!!

I can't resist sharing a few shots from her three month session -- and I'm really looking forward to capturing her at six, nine, and twelve months old.
