I captured Lucas as a newborn back in February and I can't believe he's already three months old. He is one of my Milestones clients which means that I'll get to watch him grow through three more photo sessions over the course of his first year. I really like this family and am excited to continue to work with them and get to know them!

Three months old is such a fun age to shoot. They're typically super smiley and happy, love to have their hands in their mouths, and aren't quite afraid of strangers yet. Lucas was very serious today and this picture just about sums him up right now...

Something SUPER fun came for me in the mail today!!!

*taken with point and shoot

It's my brand new, super professional, fancy schmancy new camera!

*taken with point and shoot

I've been drooling over this camera since I first had the opportunity to test it out last October. David and I have made it a point to not go into debt while building my photography business and this is the first really big purchase we've made with the money that I've earned. I know, I'm actually earning money doing this - somebody pinch me!!

Off to go play....

I've gotten kind of lazy lately and have been taking more pictures on my phone. I think I've just been so swamped and super busy that I just snap a picture wherever I am when I think about it just in case I forget later. At least I'll have a picture, right?

Anyway, these lovelies arrived on my desk yesterday for Administrative Professionals Day. I had the day off so it was a wonderful surprise to arrive to this morning! This is one BEAUTIFUL bouquet and I'm planning to bring it home with me this weekend so that I can enjoy it as much as possible before leaving for CALIFORNIA next week!

...again with the phone rotation. sorry. it's annoying.

David and I were out looking at a potential rental house tonight and ended up swinging by one of my FAVORITE stores in Rocky River. Urban Home and Garden is awesome. A little pricey, but awesome nontheless. If you live near one you need to go! This just about sums my hubby up...

The robin outside our door is relentless. Morning after morning a new nest arrives. And day after day David removes it. I think David finally got sick of having to do that (and was beginning to feel a little heartless) so he turned to his trusty friend, the Google. He learned that placing something flashy like a pie tin or a cd near the "nesting ground" would scare the bird away, causing it to nest elsewhere.

So, he rigged up this flashy system. Beautiful, no?

Update (5/20): It may not be beautiful but it worked like a charm. No more nests outside our door. Just some unsightly mud leftover that we still need to spay down. Oh, and we're probably safe to take down the flashy decor too. That's coming down this weekend!

The sun FINALLY came out today for the first time in a long time and the temperatures even warmed up a bit. David and I spent the afternoon at the park. We went early to enjoy the outdoors and then I had a photo shoot in the afternoon. I love this time of year when everything is so fresh and so new. When flowers are dazzling us with their bright colors and our skin is being warmed by the sun (for what seems like the first time in a long time).

I never used to notice Forsythia, but it's recently become one of my favorite spring flowers. It blooms early so don't blink or you'll miss it!

There's a determined little robin trying to build a muddy nest right outside of our front door. As bad as we feel tearing down his nest each morning, it's a deed that's got to be done. And my lovely hubby gets the honor. Sorry bird! Go find a tree...

I had the opportunity to shoot this adorable little guy today. His mom called me kind of last minute after she'd seen some other newborn pictures that I'd done. Joshua James was born over three weeks premature and these pictures were taken before his actual due date. He was so so tiny and did a great job.

This is one of my favorite pictures ever. I just can't get enough of those adorable little sleep smiles!

Cleveland has seen over 200% of the normal rainfall amount this April. So, it goes without saying that one of my favorite Christmas gifts as of late is my pair of rain boots (thanks Chris & Tessa).

With all of these darn April showers, May had better bring some freaking awesome flowers!

Here's another delicious new salad we tried tonight. I think this one is definitely a keeper and will find it's way into our summer menu rotation rather frequently!

Despite my nagging subtle reminders, David waited until tonight to do our taxes. I'm betting he wishes they were already done!

Who else waited until the last minute?!?

I've been SUCH a blogging slacker - both here and over at my other blog. I like to blame it on the business...more likely it could be blamed on my new addiction to Pinterest. And I do mean addiction!

It's an awesome site that allows you to pin all of those creative ideas that you see on the interwebs into various categories in your very own Pinterest account - making them easily accessible for future reference. Gone are the days of wondering where you saw that awesome recipe and an endless list of book marked pages! The other awesome thing is that you can see other people's pins and boards...and repin them if you like them. It's total overload of inspiration....but I LOVE it! I've even caught David pinning things in my account -- and I think it's safe to say he "loves" it too : )

So, join me over at Pinterest* and get addicted started now!

(taken with my phone)

*You have to request an account - which can actually take a couple of weeks. I have "invitations" that I can send you if you're interested.

David and I have been adventurous little eaters and have been enjoying a little Middle Eastern food lately. We went to an authentic Arab restaurant last week with a few friends and decided to try something a bit more Americanized this evening -- Friday night date night at Aladdins!

David went to Grove City tonight to see Jon's senior project -- so I took the opportunity to workout and have a relaxing evening off from cooking dinner. Watch out, things are getting crazy over here! While the cats away the mice will play...

Dinner!

I was feeling especially lazy and snapped this picture with my phone. And, once again...blogger isn't rotating my pictures properly. Sorry! I know that's really lame.

It was another beautiful day here and David and I took the opportunity to step away from our laptops (and work) to get out and enjoy the sunshine! We took a walk around our "neighborhood" and I was able to snap a few pictures of early signs of spring. There's so much anticipation that surrounds spring and I can hardly stand it. I'm sooooooo looking forward to it. Have I mentioned that here before? Yes? Oh, ok. Sorry!

I'm back on the wagon...kind of. The weight watchers wagon. A few weddings and one bridesmaid dress to fit into this summer will do that to ya ; ) Well, that and I feel like I need a cleanse. Here's to healthy living!

Wow - I've made it 100 days! I can't believe it...and yet I can at the same time. I'm not one to give up and I hate not finishing something I've started. So, here's to 265 more : )

It was SO nice out today so we took the opportunity to enjoy a tasty summer salad and a glass of wine on the patio this evening. And, it was lovely. As usual!

Can't wait for summer...

I had the great opportunity to shoot a maternity session this afternoon (for my hair stylist!) -- and it went SO well. I'm loving the images I was able to capture.  If you're a fan of mine on Facebook then you may have already seen a few of these...but that's okay : )

She makes 36 weeks look great!

I looooooooooooovvvvvvveeee a bed all made up. I love the calm, serene feeling it gives me - like I've accomplished something bigger than what I actually did.

I was lazy today and snapped this picture with my point and shoot before crawling into bed for the evening. Sorry my pictures have been a little less than inspiring lately. My creative juices are being exhausted at both of my other jobs lately : ) I'll be back, I promise!

David and I have been spending every last minute of our free time working on Kimberly Althausen Photography lately. It's been a TON of work and I'll be so glad when things are finally up and running smoothly. But for now...it's work work work (and caffeine!!).

This was our Saturday night -- we closed down Barnes & Noble. Don't be jealous.

And, apparently blogger won't let me rotate pictures. Sorry.

It's a rare Friday night when David and I don't take a spin through the aisles of Target -- tonight was no different! Just the fact that I'm looking at THESE makes me feel like spring *might* just be right around the corner!
